PETALING JAYA: Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for increasing funding for the National Football Team's development.

The Prime Minister announced on Sunday (Jan 12) that the funding would rise from RM15mil to RM30mil, with an additional RM15mil coming from the private sector.

"FAM will make the best use of this additional allocation to enhance Harimau Malaya’s development programmes at all levels," said Hamidin.

"This effort includes preparing the senior team to be more competitive in every international tournament they participate in.

"The funds will also be utilised by FAM to improve organisational management to drive transformation, ensuring that the national squad players receive the best support from appointed experts.

"This additional allocation will undoubtedly further boost the motivation of the national squad players to achieve greater success in the future."

Hamidin also extended his utmost gratitude to Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim for his constant concern, support, and assistance to FAM in their efforts to elevate the performance of the Harimau Malaya squad.
