PETALING JAYA: Malaysia are set to secure three points against Timor Leste in the AFF Cup, but coach Pau Marti Vicente (pic) says their opponents will make life tough.

Timor Leste started their Group A campaign on the wrong foot when they were thrashed 0-10 by Thailand.

With their poor start, Harimau Malaya are expected to win against them them at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday (Dec 11).

Vicente said: "Games are always difficult no matter who our opponents are."

"We have to show our character and level. (It) is never an easy game. We have to look at ourselves first. We also want people to enjoy our game as well."

"I’m happy to be back in Bukit Jalil. The last game was in September and after that, we played away games," he said during the pre-match press conference at the stadium here on Tuesday (Dec 10).

Vicente though would be delighted to have a full squad as the likes of fullback Declan Lambert, goalkeeper Kalamullah Al-Hafiz and centreback Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar have joined after their club assignments in the league.

Malaysia started their AFF campaign with a 2-2 draw against Cambodia in Phnom Penh on Sunday (Dec 8).
