PETALING JAYA: Kedah want to continue their winning momentum when they take on Kelantan United in a Super League match at the Darul Aman Stadium tomorrow.

The northern side are riding high after edging Penang 1-0 on aggregate to reach the FA Cup semi-finals last week.

Kedah will be facing defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the FA Cup semi-finals at the end of this month.

The Canaries also defeated Penang 1-0 last month before the Super League took a break for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and FA Cup campaign.

Kedah coach Nafuzi Zain said the focus was on maintaining the winning run at home.

“We want to maintain the winning streak in the Super League in an effort to strengthen our position in the table,” said Nafuzi.

“We have not lost at home in recent months and this is a good opportunity for all players to perform after rebuilding their fitness for the last one week.

“The fitness factor plays an important role in ensuring that we are ready to be at our best again,” he said.

Nafuzi added they would not take Kelantan United lightly despite them lying second last in the 13-team Super League standings.

Kelantan United have only three points after playing four matches.

“There are two or three players who may be tired and have some injuries and I expect to make some changes,” said Nafuzi.

“We need to be wary of Kelantan as they are capable of stealing points as well.”

Kedah have won two out of their last four matches but only have three points. They were docked three points for failing to fully settle the salary arrears for 2023.
