(Reuters) - Newcastle United's Harvey Barnes could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, as his manager Eddie Howe confirmed on Tuesday that the foot injury is a serious one.

Barnes, who signed from Leicester City in July, was forced off with the injury in the 12th minute of Newcastle's 8-0 win at Sheffield United on Sunday.
