PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan will face Johor Darul Ta’zim in the Malaysia Cup quarter-final after beating Kelantan United 5-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.
After taking a slim 1-0 lead in the first-leg, the Deers were much better in the second when they beat the east coast side 4-2 at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi on Sunday (Aug 20).
Negri’s goals were scored by Brazilian striker Casagrande in the eighth minute, midfielder R. Barath Kumar (19th), Myanmar winger Hein Htet Aung (34th) and Spanish striker Youssef Ezzejjari (85th).
Kelantan United’s goals were scored by Filipino winger OJ Porteria in the fourth minute and striker Indra Putra Mahayuddin (65th).
Pahang also booked a spot in the quarter-final after beating Harini 5-2 on aggregate. They will take on Kuala Lumpur in the quarter-final.
