IPOH: Struggling Perak have confirmed that they will be bringing in nine players to help them survive the drop.
Perak, who saw six players leaving the team, are currently 10th in the 12-team Super League.
According to a statement by the management via the club’s Facebook page, they are currently awaiting approval for the registration of the signings from the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
“Their names will be announced once we get the green light from the MFL.
“Their presence is an indication of our seriousness to remain competitive so as not to disappoint our fans, ” added the statement. There were talks of two Lebanese players, Samir Ayass and Jad Noureddine, England’s Charlie Machell and Zoubairou Garba (Cameroon) who will don their jersey.
The new players will fill the void left behind by Guilherme De Paula, Shahrul Saad (pic), Shakir Hamzah, J. Parthiban, Kenny Pallraj and Nazirul Naim Che Hashim.
“This step was also taken after realising the grievances and views of our fans and supporters regarding the migration of the six key players.”
Apart from that, the reshuffle was also done for the sake of management and administrative restructuring which resulted in cost savings of about half a million ringgit per month.
“This austerity measure is very important to help the team overcome their financial crisis either in the short or long term.
“We hope that all supporters will remain patient and put full trust in the club’s management.” — Bernama
