The Malaysian Super League side was beaten convincingly by K-League side Ulsan Hyundai 5-1 in the AFC Champions League playoff stage match at Ulsan Myunsu Stadium in South Korea on Tuesday (Feb 19).
In the first half, Ulsan took the lead through an Amirul Azhan Aznan own goal after he bundled in a cross from Ulsan's rightback Kim Tae-hwan.
Perak's best chance came in the 38th minute when Gilmar Filho received a pass from Firdaus Saiyadi, but the Brazilian blazed his shot over the bar.
In the second half, Ulsan doubled their lead thanks to a brilliant solo goal from American international Mix Diskerud in the 55th minute.
Diskerud added another goal two minutes later after he received a pass from Kim In-sung and bent his shot beautifully past keeper Hafizul Hakim.
Ulsan ended any hopes of a Perak comeback when Lee Dong-kyeong scored the fourth goal in the 70th minute to put them into the group stage of the AFC Champions League.
The rout was completed when Brazilian striker Junior Negrao scored the fifth goal to ensure his club qualified comfortably for the group stage.
Perak got their consolation goal through Nazirul Naim in the 90th minute.
The northern side's journey in the Asian stage ends while Ulsan will face off against Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale, Australian side Sydney FC and Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in Group H of the AFC Champions League.
