PETALING JAYA: National bowler Qurratu’Ain Izdihar Pozi was the lone bright spark for Malaysia as she stayed in contention for a place in the stepladder showdown at the Asian Youth Championships yesterday.

The 19-year-old finished third in the opening block of eight games, collecting 1,774 pinfalls, just behind leader Lee Da-eun of South Korea (1,805) and Singapore’s Hazel Tan in second (1,802) in the girls’ Masters category at the Sunway Megalanes.
