PETALING JAYA: Can anyone pour cold water on South Korea's An Se-young's hot streak?

India's P. V. Sindhu came close on Sunday (Oct 25) when she took the first game 21-16 against the world No. 1 in the women's singles final of the French Open at the Grand Arena Paris.

It was the 31-year-old Sindhu's first game win over Se-young since 2023, but her good run did not last long as the Korean came roaring back to win 21-11, 21-12 and clinch her fourth French Open title and third in a row.

It was Sindhu's 11th defeat to Se-young. For the 24-year-old Korean, meanwhile, the victory marked her 48th title of her career.

She had already surpassed Indonesian legend Susi Susanti, who won 46 titles during her career, by claiming the Denmark Open crown last week.
