PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttler Aaron Chia is expected to be handed a new partner for the China Open from July 21-26.

Aaron, who recently split with Soh Wooi Yik, was initially set to partner Tee Kai Wun. However, the pair did not make the cut for the Japan Open from July 14-19 due to their ranking points.

They are currently No. 13 on the reserve list.

In contrast, Wooi Yik and his new partner Man Wei Chong have secured places in the tournament.

To enable Aaron and Kai Wun to compete in the China Open, BAM could be forced into another reshuffle involving either Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King or Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is expected to officially announce the changes on Wednesday (June 10).
