Aaron-Wooi Yik slip to world No. 3


PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik have slipped to world No. 3 in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on Tuesday (June 2).

Aaron-Wooi Yik, who had held the world No. 2 ranking for 51 weeks since June 2024, were overtaken by Indonesia's Fajar Alfian-Shohibul Fikri, who moved up to No. 2 with 90,853 points.

The Malaysians are now third with 89,484 points, only 173 points ahead of newly crowned Singapore Open champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty of India, who sit at No. 4 with 89,311 points.

South Korea's Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae remain firmly at the top of the rankings with 122,049 points.

Meanwhile, three other Malaysian pairs maintained their positions, with Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun staying at No. 6, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani at No. 8 and Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King at No. 17.
