Flight delays can derail travel plans. Thankfully, some airlines have managed to keep their operations running smoothly, even during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
Saudia Group ranked among the world's most punctual airlines, with Saudia, Saudi Arabia's national carrier, and its low-cost airline, Flyadeal, topping the latest "on-time" performance rankings during the busy post-haj travel season and the start of the summer holiday, according to aviation analytics company, Cirium.
Additionally, Flyadeal was also the best-performing airline in West Asia and Africa.
In June, Saudia operated 13,350 flights, has an on-time arrival rate of 92.38% and an on-time departure rate of 93.02%. Flydeal, meanwhile, operated 5,150 flights, achieving 95.42% on-time arrivals and 96.63% on-time departures.
The result comes from seamless aviation ecosystem, supported by AI-powered digital systems that improved planning, forecasting and real-time decision making.
The group said in a press statement that it will continue to invest in digital technology and operational improvements to provide a more reliable travel experience for passengers.
Saudia Group's director-general Ibrahim Al-Omar said: "We remain committed to advancing our operational performance in support of the Saudi Aviation Strategy and the Kingdom's goal to reinforce its position as a leading global aviation hub."
