PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik will play junior teammates Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing in the Indian Open first round in New Delhi on Wednesday (Jan 13).

World No. 2 Aaron-Wooi Yik, who were runners-up in the Malaysian Open on Sunday (Jan 11), were originally drawn against South Korea’s Kim Gi-jung-Kim Sa-rang, but the latter’s withdrawal meant that Aaron-Khai Xing were promoted to the main draw.

The world No. 36 and 2024 world junior champions will be making their debuts in a World Tour Super 750 competition.

There was also joy for Justin Hoh in the men’s singles after he was promoted following China’s Weng Hongyang’s withdrawal.

World No. 39 Justin, who will also be making his first appearance in a Super 750 tournament, will take on China’s world No. 16 Lu Guangzu in his opening match.
