PETALING JAYA: The battle for a men’s doubles semi-final spot in Group B took a dramatic turn as Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik were beaten by host pair Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang on Thursday (Dec 18).

Aaron-Wooi Yik tried to absorb the pressure against Weikeng-Wang Chang, who enjoyed strong home support at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre, but the Chinese pair proved too strong, winning 21-14, 21-18.

With just one win in Group B, Aaron-Wooi Yik must now beat Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty on Friday (Dec 19) in straight games to reach the semi-finals for the first time.
