PETALING JAYA: Men’s singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao’s struggles continued as he suffered another early exit, this time losing to India’s Sankar Subramaniam in the first round of the Hylo Open on Wednesday (Oct 29).
The world No. 22 was expected to overcome the 65th-ranked Indian in their opening-round clash at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrucken, but things did not go his way as he fell 14-21, 21-18, 16-21 after a hard-fought battle.
It was Jun Hao’s fourth consecutive first-round exit since the Korea Open on Sept 23.
