PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun will be out to avenge their compatriots when they face England’s Ben Lane-Sean Vendy in the second round of the French Open.

The seventh seeds got their campaign off to a strong start after defeating South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk-Ki Dong-ju 21-9, 21-13 in the first round at the Glaz Arena in Cesson-Sevigne on Tuesday (Oct 21).

Lane-Vendy booked their place after pulling off a 21-14, 21-13 win over Tan Wee Kiong-Nur Azriyn Ayub in another opening match.

The English pair have been a thorn in Malaysia’s side lately, having beaten Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik in the Arctic Open final two weeks ago and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin in the first round of the Denmark Open last week.

Interestingly, it was also in France that Wei Chong and Kai Wun last got the better of the world No. 12 pair Lane-Vendy, during the second round of the World Championships in Paris in August.
