Pearly-Thinaah set to compete at Hong Kong Open after world silver

PETALING JAYA: There will be no long break for women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, as the duo are set to compete in the Hong Kong Open starting on Tuesday (Sept 9).

Women’s doubles coach Rosman Razak confirmed that Pearly-Thinaah, who won a historic silver at the World Championships last week, will head to Hong Kong.

“Pearly-Thinaah will play in the Hong Kong Open. They have already started training and will do their best next week," said Rosman.

He added that Pearly-Thinaah will be aiming to defend their title after stunning China’s world No. 1 Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning in the final last year.

The world No. 2 pair will open their campaign this time against Taiwan’s Chang Ching-hui and Yang Ching-tun.
