PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun underlined their growing stature by storming into the men’s doubles quarter-finals of the World Championships in Paris for their best result yet on the big stage.

The world No. 7 pair needed just 35 minutes to outclass England’s Ben Lane-Sean Vendy 21-18, 21-18 in their third round clash at the Adidas Arena on Thursday (Aug 28).

At their first world outing in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2023, the Malaysians failed to clear the third round.

The next game on Friday (Aug 29) will be their biggest test as they face top seeds Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae of South Korea for a place in the semi-finals.

The Koreans were in ruthless form as they tore apart Leo Rolly-Bagas Maulana of Indonesia 17-21, 21-9, 21-4 in another third round match.
