Aaron-Wooi Yik set up last-four clash with tricky Indian pair

PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik booked their spot in the China Open semi-finals after beating teammates Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun.

The world No. 2 pair were on top form and needed only 33 minutes to claim a 21-16, 21-16 win over world No. 7 Wei Chong-Kai Wun at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou on Friday (July 25).

Aaron-Wooi Yik will next face India’s 2022 Asian Games gold medallists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty for a place in the final.

Satwiksairaj-Chirag prevented an all-Malaysian semi-final after coming out on top over independent pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi 21-18, 21-14.
