Sze Fei-Izzuddin beaten in Japan Open final

PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani missed out on their second consecutive Japan Open crown after going down to South Korea's in form pair Seo Seung-jae-Kim Won-ho.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin found the Koreans too hot to handle and lost 16-21, 17-21 in 38 minutes at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Sunday (July 20).

The world No. 1 independent pair can still hold their heads high after making it into their first final since capturing the Indian Open in January.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will now turn their attentions to defending their China Open title, which starts on Tuesday in Changzhou.
