Aaron-Wooi Yik enter quarters after Tee withdraws due to food poisoning

Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun

PETALING JAYA: The much-anticipated all-Malaysian men’s doubles clash ended in disappointment after Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun withdrew, handing Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik a walkover.

Kai Wun is believed to have been suffering from diarrhoea and was not well enough to play.

“World No. 4 Chia-Soh advanced to the last eight after receiving a walkover following Kai Wun’s withdrawal due to illness,” said BAM in a statement.

Former world champions Aaron-Wooi Yik will face either China’s Huang Keyuan-Lin Xiangyi or Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard for a place in the semi-finals.
