Thai duo ends Soon Huat-Shevon’s Swiss Open run

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s campaign in the Swiss Open ended after mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie were sent packing in the quarter-finals on Friday.

The top seeds lost 18-21, 10-21 to Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran in a 34-minute match in Basel.

Soon Huat-Shevon had been riding high on confidence after beating the Thai pair at the All-England last week but they could not produce the same brilliance.

Their opponents turned the tables this time with a more aggressive approach, leaving Soon Huat-Shevon struggling to keep up.
