KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia enjoyed a good day as both Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani marched into the semi-finals of the men's doubles event at the Indian Open.
Fifth seeds Aaron-Wooi Yik defeated Thailand's Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Kittinupong Kedren 21-18, 21-18 in just 39 minutes at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi on Friday (Jan 17).
They will face the winners of the match between Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae of South Korea and second seeds Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang of China next.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin also brought joy when they staved off a strong challenge from Taiwan’s Lee Fang-chi-Lee Fang-jen to win 21-17, 21-17 in 33 minutes to clear their last eight match.
They will take on either home favourites Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty or South Korea’s Jin Yong-Kang Min-hyuk next.
It is indeed a fantastic day for Malaysia as all other quarter-final representatives - Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah (women's doubles), Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei (mixed doubles) also won their respective matches.
