Aaron-Wooi Yik take it easy as they book last eight berth


PETALING JAYA: Former world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik maintained their good form to advance to the men’s doubles quarter-finals at the Binjiang Gymnasium in Hangzhou on Wednesday.

Aaron-Wooi Yik, the sixth seeds had no trouble beating Thai pair Supak Jomkoh-Kittinupong Kedren 21-12, 21-14 in the second round match that lasted for 30 minutes.

Joining them in the quarter-finals are women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah who also defeated Thai combination Jongkolphan Kititharakul-Rawinda Prajongjai 21-15, 21-17 in 39 minutes.

In an earlier match, young mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei had also made it to the last eight after beating Sai Prateek-Tanisha Crasto 21-18, 21-18 in the second round.
