Pang Ron-Mei Xing capture Maldives International Challenge title

PETALING JAYA: National mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Teoh Mei Xing captured their first title of the year at the Maldives International Challenge on Saturday (June 10).

Pang Ron-Mei Xing defeated Vinson Chiu-Jennie Gai of the United States 21-13, 21-18 in the final at the Male Sports Complex.

It was the pair's second title together overall as they had won the Malaysian International Challenge last December.

Independent men's singles shuttler Soong Joo Ven though could not end his four-year title drought when he lost out 19-21, 18-21 to India's R. Ravi.

The 28-year-old Joo Ven last won a title at the Malaysian International in 2019.
