Jun Hao loses to Jonatan in China Masters opener


PETALING JAYA: National shuttler Leong Jun Hao’s China Masters campaign ended with a first-round defeat to world No. 1 Jonatan Christie of Indonesia at the Shenzhen Arena on Tuesday (Sept 1).

The 27-year-old Jun Hao put in a valiant display against the Indonesian but ultimately came up short, losing 17-21, 19-21.

This defeat marks the third time this year that world No. 27 Jun Hao has been knocked out of a tournament by Jonatan, following prior defeats in the Asia Championships and Malaysian Open.
