Hard work pays off: Pearly Tan- M. Thinaah posing with their incentive award for capturing the French Open crown.

PETALING JAYA: Big bucks continue to pour in for national women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah.

The duo have received an incentive of RM37,500 from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) after becoming the first women’s pair from Malaysia to win the French Open title.

The reward is set to fire up the duo for the World Tour Finals in Bangkok from Dec 7-11.

“We are very happy to receive this incentive. This will give us further motivation to do even better in the future,” said Pearly.

BAM president Tan Sri Norza Zakaria commended Pearly and Thinaah for their achievement and emphasised that the organisation will always compensate players who perform well.

“Pearly-Thinaah displayed real grit and character to overcome world No. 7 Mayu Matsumoto-Wakana Nagahara in a three-game battle in the final to win the title,” said Norza.

“I hope that this incentive will give Pearly-Thinaah even more motivation ahead of the World Tour Finals and other tournaments in the future.

“We have always had our own incentive scheme to reward players for their achievements.”
