Versatile: Soong Joo Ven will also feature in the doubles, forming a rare partnership with Liew Daren.

PETALING JAYA: National No. 3 Soong Joo Ven has downplayed suggestions that he is the favourite to win the singles title at the Top Glove-Purple League Pro-Am which begins in Putrajaya today.

In the absence of national No. 2 Liew Daren, the 25-year-old is the top seed in the 16-man contest. His biggest challenger is likely to come from Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin, the second seed.
