PETALING JAYA: Top doubles pair Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong began the new year as happy and relieved men.

The world No. 14 tendered their resignation to the Badminton Associa­tion of Malaysia (BAM) yesterday, parting ways with the national team that they joined in 2007 to resume their career as professionals.
