PETALING JAYA: It was a day of mixed fortunes for the Malaysian shuttlers at the Russian Open.

Veterans Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying had something to smile about after beating Japanese youngsters Yuta Watanabe-Arisa Higashino 21-13, 23-21 in Sunday’s mixed doubles final in Vladivostok.
