PETALING JAYA: Eating healthy is equally important, and mixed doubles shuttler Toh Ee Wei is taking what she puts into her body seriously.
The 25-year-old Ee Wei has been consuming nutritious meals while undergoing her rehabilitation programme in Melbourne following surgery on her left knee in early July.
She suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during the Singapore Open in May.
Her meals have been protein-packed as she focuses on rebuilding her strength and getting back into shape
"Recovery is not only about training and rehab," posted Ee Wei on her social media platform.
"Nutrition plays an equally important role in giving our body what it needs to heal, rebuild muscle, regain strength, and prepare for the next challenge.
"Every detail counts. It’s the small things done consistently, that lead to progress."
Ee Wei is certainly getting her recovery process right and if all goes well she should be able to return to court to resume her assault on the badminton court by end of this year.
Due to her recovery, Ee Wei has had to give up the opportunity to defend the world title she won with Chen Tang Jie under coach Nova Widianto last year.
The duo missed the World Championships in New Delhi last month.
