PASIR GUDANG: Malaysia’s top women’s singles shuttler Tee Jing Yi’s victory at the Iran International last month may have gone unnoticed but it has been a huge morale booster.

On Wednesday, she showcased her new-found confidence by marching into the second round of the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold at the Pasir Gudang Municipal Stadium here with a convincing 21-18, 21-14 win over fourth seed Aprilla Yuswandari of Indonesia.
