PETALING JAYA: Former world No. 1 men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani finally overcame England's Ben Lane-Sean Vendy to reach the quarter-finals of the Indonesian Open.

In the second-round match on Thursday (June 4) at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Sze Fei-Izzuddin needed just 30 minutes to secure a convincing 21-11, 21-13 victory.

The win was their first over Lane-Vendy after losing both previous meetings, including at the Malaysian Open in January.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will next face India's Hariharan Amsakarunan-M.R. Arjun for a place in the semi-finals.

However, it was the end of the road for women's singles shuttler K. Letshanaa, who lost 15-21, 18-21 to third seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan.

Mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing also saw their campaign come to an end after falling 14-21, 22-24 to last year's runners-up Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran of Thailand.
