Grace can hit 70m, says coach

BANGKOK: Long before Grace Wong stunned the SEA Games with a 65.41m hammer throw and a cascade of records, her coach, Gu Yuan (pic) could do it – and more.

“Before the competition, I told her national teammate Jackie (Wong Siew Cheer), ‘Grace can go 65m. But I didn’t tell her because I didn’t want to put pressure on her. I just wanted her to enjoy the event,” Gu Yuan said at the Supachalasai Stadium yesterday.
