Azeem’s euphoria over new record proves short-lived

PETALING JAYA: For a moment, Malaysian sprint sensation Mohd Azeem Fahmi thought that he had bettered his national record of 10.09s in the heat three quarter-finals of the NCAA East First Round 100m race in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday.

The Teluk Intan-born 19-year-old posted a time of 10.04s to finish sixth, a mark which is 0.05s faster than the top mark he set last year.
