I WRITE with deep sadness, anger, and compassion after reading the article “Homeless seniors in the city” (The Star, May 30; online at bit.ly/ 439Jgwj).

As a senior citizen myself, I find it heart-breaking and deeply disturbing that fellow elderly Malaysians – people like myself who have spent decades working, sacrificing, raising families, and contributing to this nation – are now spending their final years abandoned on pavements, sleeping in fear, uncertainty, and hunger.
