HEALTH Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has confirmed that there were no Malaysians on board the MV Hondius (pic), where a hantavirus outbreak occurred, taking the lives of three passengers. Eight others were confirmed to be infected, and authorities in the affected countries are scrambling to trace those who might have been exposed in a bid to stop the virus from spreading.

While Dr Dzulkefly assured that the current risk to our country remains extremely low, Malaysians should take this opportunity to understand this virus and the practical, human-focused steps we can take to prevent its spread.
