Retirement should not be treated as the finish line

FOR many, retirement is still seen as the finish line. Work hard, save enough, reach a certain age or target and then step away.

The idea of early retirement makes this even more appealing. It is often framed as freedom, a reward for discipline and a chance to finally enjoy life on one’s own terms.
