Healthcare an investment in the country’s future

TOGETHER Against Cancer Malaysia expresses deep concern over reductions in allocations to the Health and Higher Education ministries, particularly at a time when Malaysia is facing rising cancer cases, growing healthcare demands, and urgent workforce shortages in the public sector.

We understand the cuts are attempts to mitigate the current global oil crisis resulting from the Middle East conflict, which has caused the petrol and diesel subsidies to overshoot the previously approved budget. It is understandable that the government has to institute austerity measures to control operating expenditure.
