Scuba diving a safe activity when risks are managed

RECENT news about two scuba diving incidents in the waters off the coast of Terengganu would have caused a stir among the public, particularly enthusiasts and businesses involved in the sport. Both incidents occurred in the span of one week at dive sites popular among recreational scuba divers and snorkellers.

The first incident involved two men who went missing while scuba diving at the Pulau Redang Marine Park on March 15. Fortunately, both divers were found alive after drifting for about 10 nautical miles from the original dive site.
