Revisit value of single-sex schools

THE recent tragedies in our schools are heartbreaking reminders that something is deeply wrong in how we are raising and protecting our children.

Parents and educators share the duty of providing them with a safe and nurturing environment in which they can grow. Yet, in today’s fast-paced and distracted society, many adults have let their guard down. Too often, we hand our children a mobile device to keep them occupied while we focus on our own pursuits. With that simple act, we allow them to step into a virtual world with no boundaries and no safeguards.
