OUR nation is still in shock and grief over a profound tragedy - the first incident of its kind in a Malaysian school. A family is mourning the devastating loss of their child, and in this moment of collective sorrow, we should be channelling our efforts into compassion and support.

It is therefore utterly deplorable that unscrupulous individuals have chosen to exploit this tragedy. The act of replacing the Touch ‘n Go eWallet QR code on a young girl's obituary to divert “bak kum” or condolence money is a new low that has left us deeply appalled by the actions of these immoral people. This is not just a crime; it is an act that adds salt to the wounds of a grieving family and insults the empathy of every Malaysian who wishes to help.
