Let’s be inclusive and commend all workers

I REFER to the news on April 30 about the foreign worker who died after his head was crushed by a machine he was cleaning in a factory at Port Klang.

Reading the news yesterday, which was Labour Day when workers nationwide are commemorated for their immense contribution to the country, I reflected upon the fact that there often seems to be less emphasis on recognising and valuing the contributions of our marginalised minority workers, most notably foreign workers who also contribute significantly to our economy in key sectors such as manufacturing, construction (pic) and agriculture.
