FOR four and a half years, the United Nations Security Council, with the United Kingdom as penholder on Myanmar, has failed to uphold provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent acts of genocide against the Rohingya people in Myanmar.

As a result of this failure, in the past six months alone, hundreds if not several thousands more Rohingya have been killed.
