Crucial role of KL International Book Fair

INTERNATIONAL book fairs serve as vibrant platforms that bring together publishers, authors, readers and literary enthusiasts from around the globe. These events play a crucial role in promoting literature, fostering cultural exchange, and facilitating the buying and selling of publishing rights.

The KL International Book Fair (KLIBF) has been making a mark since its inception in 1981. Organised by the Education Ministry through the National Book Council of Malaysia (NBCM) in collaboration with local book industry associations, including the Malaysia Book Publishers Association (Mabopa), it has attracted more than 1,000 publishers and more than one million visitors in the past years.
