AUTHENTIC progress in any society starts when the common people have an understanding about the importance of having constructive relations with neighbours, getting involved in common activities, and being friends in times of need and grief.
One rainy day, my Indian colleague’s son fell off his motorcycle on the road. Passing motorcyclists stopped to help: one got a cloth to keep the rain off; another sat behind the injured boy to keep him from falling backwards on to the wet road; all stayed until the ambulance arrived.
