Hong Kong actress Sheila Chan, who was the first runner-up in the 1988 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, recently treated herself to a five-day getaway in Malaysia with her best friend.
The 56-year-old made every moment count, starting her trip with a taste of otak-otak at a bustling night market, followed by a durian feast the next day.
According to China Press, Chan savoured several varieties of the king of fruits, including the Black Thorn and beloved Musang King.
The All's Well, Ends Well star also indulged in local favourites such as fish-head curry and petai.
In a social media post, Chan said she's usually a late riser but woke up early as she was eager to try Klang's famous bak kut teh.
"You can enjoy the most traditional and original bak kut teh. I usually sleep until the afternoon on Sundays but made an exception and got up early to try this dish," she said.
Aside from indulging in various local dishes, Chan also visited a few tourist attractions, including a dragon fruit orchard.
"Dragon fruits bring many benefits. It contains antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases," she said.
The actress then jokingly added: "The dragon also symbolises good fortune, so eating more (dragon fruit) can bring prosperity, in addition to good health and peace."
