Retired Hong Kong actor Liu Wai-hung, fondly known as Ah Chan, stepped away from showbiz in the 1990s to pursue business.

Last year, the 68-year-old announced plans to launch an entertainment complex in Malaysia, combining dining, karaoke and more under a single roof.

In a recent YouTube video, Liu revealed that he will be opening a fish ball shop near Jalan Tun Perak in Kuala Lumpur on Feb 13.

The former TVB star also gave fans a behind-the-scenes tour of his fish ball workshop in a separate video, detailing the entire fish ball-making process.

"Many fish balls sold in the market today contain too much powder, which makes them hard. You can make good fish balls using 100% pure fish meat … Just pick fish that are rich in protein," he said.

Liu's path to success has been far from smooth.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, the former actor – known for his role in The Good, The Bad And The Ugly – encountered numerous business setbacks after leaving showbiz, at one point accumulating over HK$400,000 (RM200,000) in debt.

Reports indicate that he only cleared all his debts in 2006.

Liu later moved into agriculture and currently cultivates his own produce in Guangdong. He's the founder of Ya Can Mi, a popular rice brand in China.
