Where are our women leaders?

WE congratulate the government of the day for receiving the mandate to represent the people of Penang state.

As women’s rights activists, we have applauded the state’s initiatives to remedy the underrepresentation of women in politics in recent years. The Chief Minister (elected for a second term now) announced in 2020 that in 2022’s 15th General Election (GE15), Penang would try to achieve 30% women’s representation in the state assembly.
