SCAMMERS beware! Your days are surely numbered as more and more near-victims are sharing their experiences. To their stories, I now add my own.
In mid-December 2022 I saw an email from an antivirus software provider saying that US$260 (RM1,138) had been charged to my credit card to continue my subscription, and to call a US phone number for queries. When I called to say I had stopped my subscription, I was told my money would be refunded, and that the American company’s accounts department in India would contact me.
